Quick fixes for common problems
Most problems have a simple cause. Try these first.
- The extension says BLBOL is not connected
- Make sure BLBOL is running, then reload the extension on your browser’s extensions page. If you installed the extension before the app, restart the browser once. Installation guide.
- Windows SmartScreen warns about the installer
- This installer is not code-signed. Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning. Download only from blbol.net and compare the SHA-256 on the download page for file integrity; a matching hash is not a safety guarantee. Run it only if you trust the source. Do not disable Windows security or ignore an antivirus detection.
- An antivirus flags BLBOL
- Do not disable your antivirus or allow a detected file just because its hash matches. Stop installation and review the warning with your security software provider.
- A download stopped or failed
- Select it and press Resume. If the address has expired, BLBOL can refresh it from the page you started on. How to resume a broken download.
- A video shows fewer qualities than expected
- BLBOL lists what the site provides. Very new uploads can take a while before higher resolutions appear, and some videos are only offered in lower quality.
- Where BLBOL keeps its log files
- In
%LOCALAPPDATA%\BLBOL\logs(paste the path into the File Explorer address bar). They help find the cause when you report a problem.
